A Small Cinema - Big Ambition!

Rotherham's First Film Festival opens Thursday 21st - Saturday 23rd April 2011, at the Old Market Cinema on the Corner of Market Street and Corporation Street.

The Lord Mayor cuts the ribbon to open the event with a host of films produced in the region, along with archive footage, which starts a full 3 day schedule of local interest and cultural films, the public don't always get a chance to see: http://asmallcinema.wordpress.com/2011/04/07/a-small-cinema-event-timetable/

Compress Media's 'Dole not Coal' will be closing the show as Saturday's Evening Feature. Starting at 8pm, the documentary reveals the history, impact and legacy of the 84-85 Miner's Strike from the Striking Miners' perspective through original interviews with Tony Benn & Dennis Skinner MP, together with men and women most affected by the strike.
